Nature Snap

Initial development period: March 2020 - Present

Nature Snap is a work-in-progress project using the Unity engine.  This is my first project using Unity and features my own custom artwork.  It will also feature an original soundtrack directed by myself.

Currently, I am taking a break from Nature Snap to improve my Unity skills by working on my other project, Wacky Bunny.

Inspiration

One of my side hobbies is photography and I love taking pictures of nature.  Nature Snap tries to capture some of the feelings of walking through the forest looking for animals to take pictures of.

Originally, Nature Snap was simply a game where you could take pictures of animals.  However, I have plans to add minigames and other fun activities to the game.

The Current Game

Currently, Nature Snap contains three areas, each featuring its own set of unique animals to take pictures of.  Artwork has also been created for some NPCs who will be added into the game shortly.

Overall, the game is a 2D top-down pixel art game.  The player will hunt through each area in the game to find animals and take pictures of them getting to know several NPCs along the way.

The Future Game

Originally, Nature Snap was supposed to be a simple game where the player can take pictures of animals.  It wasn't meant to be an exciting or even a fun game.  It was really just meant for me to become familiar with Unity.

But, I recently decided that I might as well make it into a fun game!  To accomplish this, I plan to add several minigames throughout the world of the original picture-taking game.  The first of which will probably be a fishing minigame.
