About Me

Hi!  My name is Tyler Royer and I am a game designer.  I am currently studying software engineering at Bowling Green State University and will graduate in the spring of 2021.  One recent achievement of mine was my team placing first in the BGSU 2020 Hackathon with our short but sweet puzzle game.  In addition, one of the most meaningful experiences in my recent past was my internship at Amazon Web Services where I obtained valuable professional teamwork skills and also learned a lot about back-end development.

Like many kids, I have always loved playing video games.  My brother and I would tell each other about how we wanted to grow up and make video games.  But for a kid, making a video game seems like an impossible task.  Unlike my brother, though, I decided I would get a head start and began learning how to code at the age of twelve.

I worked on all kinds of projects in middle school, high school, and college.  The skills learned in these projects varied widely and included robotics, mobile app development, scripting, and of course: video games.  A list of all of my past and current projects can be found on the projects page.

Aside from game development, my hobbies include learning Norwegian, learning ukulele, and model trains.  I have many other hobbies as well, but these have taken up most of my spare time recently.
